Toddler Tales
Story Time

Each Wednesday at 10:30 am the kids’ area of the upstairs becomes a place for storybook wonder and excitement when we host Toddler Tales/Story Time.

Preschoolers and their moms and/or dads listen to a few great tales, maybe sing a song and share a dance or two, and generally just have fun.

It’s a great time for young families to interact and meet one another.

After School
Arts & Crafts

Each Wednesday at 3:30 pm — while school is in session — we host After School Arts & Crafts in the basement with famed artist Tina Fung Holder.

There’s no telling what you might make or create, but you’re certain to have some fun. Parents can sit in if they like, and early grades to older preschoolers are welcome to participate.

We’ll also share a snack, and get to visit with one another.

Third Wednesday
New Books & Coffee

The third Wednesday of each month is set aside for New Books & Coffee.

We gather in the basement at 10:00 am, have a cup of coffee and conversation, and delve into reviews and have a look-see at the new books that will be going on the shelves of the library.

Everyone is welcome!

Summer
Reading Program

The Summer Reading Program for 2018 begins on Thursday, June 14th at 10:00 am, and continues each Thursday until July 26th.

Each day will be filled with fun and laughter as participants learn how to decorate cakes, tie-dye clothes, visit the museum, play games and enjoy summer.

Of course, we'll have plenty of books to choose from, as well.

Nursing Home
Outreach

The Washburn Public Library does outreach to Northern Lights Health Care Center.

If you or someone you know is at the nursing home and would like the library to bring down a book or two, simply call and tell us what or who you’re looking for and we’ll bring it over.

On the first Thursday of each month at 11:00 am the director visits the Oaks Assisted Living Center to tell a few stories, share some laughs, and have a conversation with residents there.
