The tuckpoint work has begun on the Washburn Public Library. In short, the old mortar between the brownstone blocks will be cut away and replaced. The work pictured is on the 3rd Street side of the building - if you look really close you can see the cuts. We will also be replacing stone where needed, sealing up the windows and steps, and repairing the base of the front door pillars. Plus more. We anticipate that everything will be completed sometime in September.

The plan calls for workers to use lifts instead of scaffolding. There will be some dust associated with the project, and some noise. We apologize for any inconveniences that may occur.

Our goal and our plan is to be open while the work is going on. Currently we are open to the public 10 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday - with sidewalk pick up an option beginning at 8 am, and on Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm.
